Hello. This is my first ever blog post. I thought I would use it to introduce myself. My name is Tedwina.
And I am a bear.
In particular, I am a bear of type “Perseus ursa”. In English, that translates to “Teddy Bear” .
I live with my (human) mum and dad. I started sneaking out on trips with them a couple of years ago. And now they just seem to accept me suddenly popping up when they least expect it.
Here are some pictures of a few times I have hitched a lift with them. If you click on the pictures you see more details.
Here I am with mum at Barnard Castle. This was on the walk up to the castle.
The family stopped at a cafe near the castle entrance. Well, I had to help eat the cake, didn’t I?
This is me with my best friend Miles at Ormesby Hall near Middlesbrough. We were quite surprised to find a Tedwina sized house in the grounds. I do think it was a litte two-dimensional though.
It was around this time that I began to become aware that I was… well… naked. I so admired Miles’ shirt. And dad didn’t help, because every time he saw me poking my head out of mum’s bag he would shout “You have a bear behind…”. So later, mum very kindly made me my own t-shirt.
This was my first foreign trip, and we were in Ålesund in Norway. I was not sure I could go on this trip because… well, I don’t have a passport. I did try to apply, but they don’t have ‘bear’ as an option. Mum told me not to worry and just put me in her handbag. I thought I was going to get caught when dad saw me peeking out and shouted “You’ve got a bear behind” but no-one saw me. Mainly because they were all staring at him.
And my final picture is in Flåm, Norway. I was exhausted because we had walked a long way. It was a beautiful place, but they left me sitting there for ages and I couldn’t get down because it was so high.
So, that is me and my early travels.
